I have been very active from day one, taking up gymnastics from the age of 1 to 14. I began playing rugby at Trojans RFC at the age of 8 through to 17, going on to represent Hampshire from under 16s to under 18s, captain Middlesex at under 20 and represent Scotland as part of the Elite Performance squad from the age of 14 to 20.  Club honours include London Scottish, Barnes, Stains and Bournemouth.  Although having retired from rugby due to injury, I continue to pursue high levels of competition in other sports including: strongman (entering South of England U90kg qualifier 2015) and yacht racing (Velsheda, Spirit 52 and Spirit 65 racer/cruisers).  Other sporting interests include Olympic weightlifting, kayaking, boxing and basketball.

Having recognised from an early age that my natural interest and physical make up appealed to more strength based sports (rugby and sailing), I began to show interest in how specific training can lend itself to a specific sport.  Through shadowing a strength and conditioning coach on a placement year I have learnt how adapting or adopting certain training methods to aid the athlete in a positive way can have such an impact on their competition performance.  It is through working with such athletes as a Bath Academy rugby player and European karate champion, that has encouraged me to not only continue to pursue my own personal competitive goals in strongman and yacht racing, but to also progress my knowledge in the world of athlete specific training across all types of sport and strength and conditioning, and applying this knowledge to help clients conquer their own Everest’s.
